FlashAI is a real-time movement and musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) risk scanning tool available in the 3MotionAI Pro mobile app. It allows you to quickly identify at-risk postures, prioritize high-risk tasks, and capture job movements for deeper ergonomic analysis — all using your phone’s camera.

What is FlashAI?

FlashAI is a mobile tool that combines your phone’s camera with the power of the 3MotionAI 3D NeuroNET Engine to provide instant posture and ergonomic risk insights. FlashAI is designed for:

  • Fast risk screening in real work environments

  • Identifying high-risk workstations

  • Training and coaching workers on safer posture

  • Capturing tasks for deeper ergonomic analysis


How to Access FlashAI

  1. Open the 3MotionAI mobile app

  2. Select Work Task Analysis from the Movement tab

  3. Select the Member to assess

  4. You will be automatically be navigated to FlashAI

Once started, FlashAI will activate your device camera and begin scanning for human movement in real time.


Real-Time Posture Feedback (Colored Joint Indicators)

As you point your phone at a worker performing a task, FlashAI overlays posture indicators directly onto the body. These indicators appear as joint "hot zones" in different colours:

🟢 Green

Green highlights joints where postures are within an acceptable range for manual work, as defined by industry standards.

🟡 Yellow

Yellow highlights joints where posture deviates into moderate risk postures.

🔴 Red

Red indicates a more extreme posture that may lead to a faster onset of injury risk.

This real-time feedback makes it easy to visually identify which joints are being exposed to higher strain during a task.


Using FlashAI for Quick Workplace Risk Scanning

FlashAI allows you to quickly scan:

  • Multiple workers

  • Multiple workstations

  • Different tasks across a facility

Because the posture indicators update in real time, you can quickly identify areas where yellow and red indicators appear consistently. This makes FlashAI a fast and intuitive tool for deciding where deeper analysis may be needed.


FlashAI as a Training & Coaching Tool

FlashAI can also be used for real-time worker training. Example workflow:

  1. Observe a worker performing a task

  2. Watch for yellow or red joint indicators

  3. Suggest posture or technique adjustments

  4. Have the worker repeat the task

  5. Confirm whether the posture indicators improve

This creates a collaborative process where workers can visually understand how posture changes affect risk — and apply those principles to other tasks.


How to Record a Task

FlashAI allows you to record posture data while a task is performed. This will result in it's own summary screen, and the captured video can be submitted for advanced analysis, if desired.

Step-by-step:

  1. Tap Start Scan

  2. Allow the worker to perform their job normally

  3. When complete, tap End Scan

  4. Review the recorded video. If everything looks clear and the full task was captured, continue.

  5. Tap Analyze Scan

  6. FlashAI will generate a summary screen instantly

This summary includes key risk information based on joint posture exposure.


What You’ll See in the FlashAI Summary

After analysis, FlashAI provides:

Joint Risk Breakdown

FlashAI breaks down risk exposure by joint, showing how much time each joint spent in:

  • Low-risk posture

  • Moderate-risk posture

  • High-risk posture

You can tap on any joint to view its full breakdown.

Overall Risk Score (Out of 10)

FlashAI calculates a total body risk score on a 10-point scale, combining joint exposure data into a single summary score. This helps you quickly understand overall risk at a glance.

Recovery and Cost Estimate

FlashAI may also provide estimates such as:

  • Potential injury types

  • Expected recovery timelines

  • Estimated compensation or cost impact

These estimates help communicate risk severity and potential business impact.


Submitting for Advanced Analysis

Once your task video is captured, you can submit it for deeper analysis, if desired. To complete an advanced assessment, you may be prompted to:

  1. Select additional analysis types (if available), such as:

    • REBA

    • NIOSH Lifting

    • Other ergonomic assessments in the suite

  2. Enter task details such as:

    • Task description

    • Load

    • Frequency

    • Duration

After processing, you’ll receive deeper reporting, including:

  • Overall risk score

  • Joint risk scores

  • Summary Report

  • Overlay Video (similar to the web portal experience)

  • Hold the phone steady while scanning

  • Avoid obstructions (tools, carts, equipment blocking joints)
