How Products Work

Products are the commercial units of 3MotionAI that group related features together.

What are products?

Products in 3MotionAI represent distinct commercial offerings: RiskAI (injury risk analysis), FlashAI (real-time performance feedback), ROSA (range of motion scoring), and PerformAI (athletic performance analytics). Each product contains a set of features that organizations access through their subscription plan. Products are managed by Super Admins.

How to get started

Managing products in the platform:

  • Review existing products and their feature assignments on the Products page.

  • Add a new product with a unique key, display name, icon, and color for visual identification.

  • Assign features to products from the Feature Registry. Each feature belongs to exactly one product.

  • Set the sort order to control how products appear in the UI across the platform.

Key concepts

Understanding the product model:

  • Product key: A unique, immutable identifier used in API calls and configuration (e.g., 'risk-ai', 'flash-ai').

  • Feature assignment: Each feature in the registry is assigned to a product. This determines which features are enabled when a product is included in a plan.

  • Product status: Products can be active or archived. Archiving a product does not affect existing organizations but prevents new assignments.

  • Plan integration: Plans specify which products are enabled. An organization's accessible features are the union of features from all enabled products in their plan.

Common questions

Answers to frequently asked questions:

  • Can I rename a product? Yes, the display name can be changed. The product key is immutable after creation.

  • What happens when I archive a product? Existing organizations retain access. The product is hidden from new plan configurations.

  • Can I restore an archived product? Yes, use the Restore button in the Archived Products section.

  • How do products relate to plans? Plans include a list of enabled products. Each product brings its features into the plan.
